How to Store Tomato Puree for Longer Shelf Life

Storing tomato puree properly can help extend its shelf life and maintain its freshness for a longer period. Here are some steps to follow for storing tomato puree:

1. Choose Fresh Tomatoes: Start with ripe and high-quality tomatoes to make the tomato puree. The quality of the tomatoes used will affect the quality and shelf life of the puree.

2. Prepare the Tomato Puree: Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and remove any stems or blemishes. You can blanch the tomatoes by dipping them in boiling water for a minute and then transferring them to an ice water bath. This makes it easier to peel the skin off.
